Outdated Post: East 8




After i tried east 8 during the restaurant week 2013, i fall in love with their foods. I highly recommend my friends to go there. So during my Xmas gathering with pri sch friends, we went there!

I made reservation before going as i was afraid they might be full. Apparently, seems like not much people go there for dinner. I believe it is because they serve tapas - when u heard tapas (yes the food portions are small). Around 8+, the crowd starts coming.

We ordered quite a few dishes, like 60% of the menu. hehe.

Complimentary of cocktails for each pax. Yellow Cap. 

Oysters! The oysters are so fresh that i dont need any tabasco or lemon. We ordered a dozen of it!

Hamachi - 1 of my fav! Must order! We ordered 2 too! 

Yuzu Soy beef - this is good as well! 

Pork Cheek. This is normal, but if you like pork cheek you can order it. It melts in your mouth! 

Prawn Paste Crispy Chicken - i dont find this special. If to compare, i'd prefer ice cold beer chicken wings. :)). 

My top fav of the night! Chilean Seabass! You must really try this, esp eating the seabass with the sauce. Im missing this now. :( 

Mussels in sake broth. You can taste the sake broth in every mussel, plus the mussels are well cooked! Other than the New Harbour Cafe beer broth clams, this is the best i tried!

Chicken Wings! At 1st bite im like nothing special, as i continue eating the flavour comes out... I like the combination of lime and chilli. I dont mind to eat this again! 

Wedges - Normal. 

Sake Sangria - cannot really taste the alcohol. hahahaha.

Chocolate Pot

Banana Fritters 
Actually the dessert is normal. :). But try eating the chocolate pot together with the banana. You wont go wrong with chocolate and banana right?! My pri sch friend likes it! hehehe. 


We like the foods! But i will go there after dinner the next time because i have pretty huge appetite. hahahhaha! I am aiming the hokkaido scallops next. hehe.

Outdated Post: 4xfour - Regina Santamaria

Last nov, i went to 4xfour - Regina Santamaria for lunch. 

Whats is 4xfour?

4 X FOUR is an exciting new concept that brings together the art of gastronomy with the world of visual art. 4 distinctive cuisines by 4 internationally acclaimed chefs, 9 local artists, all showcased in a purpose-built Pop-Up Restaurant.

We were lucky to be able to book a table for 2, as most of the days are already full. Other than Santamaria team, there were other celebrity chefs here. I was tempted to try Chef Alvin Leung because i really admire his cooking style but it is the last time that santamaria team cook... So we decided to go for Regina santamaria.  

Below is our lunch menu. As expected, the foods were good and worth the experience.  

razor clams salad with sun-dried tomaotes, citrus vinaigrette
It was Prawns but i cannot eat prawns so mine was tomatoes.

hen "consome" with organic and wild mushrooms and smoke eel

wild market fish, "rostit" sauce, artichokes, green asparagus

roasted Korubuta pork belly, cherry tomatoes, fresh Burratta

roasted pineapple with tropical fruits, vanilla and coconut sorbet

Nespresso Coffee or Clipper Tea

Before the lunch starts, Regina Santamaria gave a speech. 

And our lunch starts now~~~

1st course: mixed tomatoes. 


2nd Course: Hen consommé.

tadah, i like the eel (i know can't see here, but it is really good)

3rd course: Fish. This is my fav of all. Love every bits of it including the artichoke and asparagus. 

4th course: Pork Belly with burrata cheese. 
I like it that they sprinkle some sea salt on the pork belly, so u taste abit of the salt while munching the pork belly... okay, i am a fan of sea salt. hehe. The interesting part is burrata cheese goes so well with pork belly! Im really amazed by this.

Afterall, it is a good experience. I hope those who went enjoy the food like me. :)) 


Savour 2014 is coming! I am going to give it a miss this year. But will try to find the photos i took during savour 2012 and 2013.

Kraze Burger/ L'Entrecote

2 weeks ago, YL and me went to PS La senza for the VIP 50% off . YL bought some lingeries because i highly recommend this brand! I have been buying La senza lingeries for 2 yrs+ already and it is really affordable and lasting! Even my colleagues love it! hehe. 

After shopping at La senza, we went to Kraze Burger for our late lunch. 

Garlic Idaho! 
There is a period of time when my colleagues and me takeaway this and eat in office. Just when we feel like eating this and not the burger. Hahaha! YL immediately nod her head and said 'wow nice' after taking 1st bite.


The KB Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. Burger was disappointing. Bun was pretty hard. 

While eating, i told YL that there is this steak place where the fries are free flow at suntec. :). And she said lets go. Woooo Hoooo~~~ hahaahhaa. Partly also because Suntec has quite a few shops. Shopping time! hahahaha. 

After walking ard for 2-3 hrs. We decided its time for dinner. hehe. So L'Entrecote, here we come~~~~

Escargots
Usually both of us will order this if the menu has it. The escargots here is pretty tasty. Soft and flavourful. Esp when you dip your complimentary bread with the sauce. Yummy!

Walnut Salad. 
The salad is normal. If im not wrong, it is complimentary when you order the steak. 


Classic!
They serve 2 sizes: Light - 160gm and Classic - 200gm
We were afraid that it will be alot so we ordered a classic to share. 

Doneness: Medium Rare! 
I like the steak here! YL dont really like. The only thing is the next time when i go, i will ask for the sauce to be separated. :)). Fries is good tooo.... but too much for me. 

Profiteroles! <3
I like profiteroles/puffs since im young! I still remember that i bought cream puffs from the cake shop opp  my house almost everyday~ haahahaha. thats how extreme i am when it comes to foods i like. 
The profiteroles here is with Vanilla bean ice cream top with chocolate sauce and sliced almonds. This is really satisfying and completes the meal. So pls leave some space for desserts! It really makes you smile after a meal... hehehe.

Restaurant Week October 2013

Restaurant Week October 2013 falls on the week we went Bangkok, so we have limited to choose.. YL and me love Restaurant Week! You get to try higher end restaurants foods at a lower cost. Of course you dont get to choose. They will come up with a Restaurant Week menu for you to choose.

YL chose East 8 this round as she saw good reviews. And i wanted to try Bull and Butcher at Plaza Singapura, i asked my colleagues if they want to go since YL can't go. hahahahaha.


East 8 Restaurant :) 
This is the Restaurant Week Lunch Menu. 

Both of us had the Rocket salad w Pear. Because im allergic to prawns.
This salad is very refreshing! I like it that it has the sweetness from the pear, mild bitterness from the rocket salad and the taste of pine nuts. Simple ingredients but satisfying. 

I chose the Salmon for my mains. 
I would say the salmon is normal, but the mashed is delicious! 

YL had the duck confit. 
It is soooo delicious!!! I swear it is the best i ever had! The skin is crispy while the meat is very tender! Both of us like this alot. Im still missing this~~~ The person said this is only available during lunch time. 

And now, it is the dessert. Beautifully plated. I love every bits of it! hehe. 


I will plan a lunch/dinner with my friends for Xmas gathering!

Bull and Butcher. 
It is actually well known for the steak i supposed. But the Restaurant Week menu does not have Steak. 

Start off with the Complimentary bread and butter. 

We ordered a Butcher Cold Cut to share.
The Cold Cut is pretty good, but both the menu and server did not state the types of cold cut we are having. 

Our Starter: Onion Soup. 
It is normal but the gruyere bread is good. 

Wagyu Beef Bolognaise Pasta
I am not a pasta person. But i manage to finish this. hahaha. The beef is pretty good even though it is minced. 

The blueberry cheesecake is pretty disappointing. 


Overall, not a satisfying meal. Maybe next time i will go and try their steak.

Ichiban Bochi

I always have craving for sushi and sashimi... And it can get so serious that i will go alone! 

Because im meeting YL so i decided to go Ichiban @ Nex...

 My all time fav - salmon and hotate sashimi. I didnt know that Ichiban serves 8 pcs of sashimi... Usually it is only 3-5pcs. But i still finish all!!!
